Yasmeen writes comedy and drama and very much enjoys the space between the two.
Yasmeen has been a regular writer on BBC EastEnders since 2018, having written over 30 episodes to date (2024).
Be it tackling late night radio phone, a topical debate or a one-to-one emotional interview, Yasmeen loves life behind the mic. Alongside hundreds of hours of live programming on national and local radio, she presents documentaries on BBC Radio 4 across a wide variety of topics.
Yasmeen's theatre writing has been produced nationally, with a specialism in comedy-drama.
She regularly hosts Q&As and panel discussions at theatres including The National. Her current writing includes development for two new plays.
As a actor, she can currently be seen as series regular 'Ameera' on Cbeebies 'Apple Tree House'.
Yasmeen is passionate about diversity in the arts and created and curates her own night of new writing and performance, The Rehearsal Room Presents, to give other artists a platform.
During lockdown Yasmeen has hosted her own podcast, The Rehearsal Room, featuring one-to-one interviews with creatives, including writer/presenter Richard Osman, actor Tamzin Outhwaite, comic Sindhu Vee and more: Rehearsal Room podcast
